Small FNIRSI DSO510 Oscilloscope + Generator

I was sent this little oscilloscope, and in my opinion it turned out not to be nearly as bad as I initially thought. But of course, you can get a better idea by reading the review.

While I’m waiting for my new electronic load, I decided to put together a quick review of another power supply. There’s nothing particularly new about it, but it may still be interesting in some ways—at least because I haven’t had one like this before.
Discount on the popular DL24MP load, plus an update

I have two bits of news today. The first is good: the price of my favorite version of the load has been reduced for the sale. The second—well, I hope it’s good too :)

A pair of power supplies, 100 and 120 watts, very similar, but with one catch

Today, this is less a review and more a demonstration of how Chinese manufacturers can build two very different power supplies on essentially the same platform.

Five More Boards for Sealed 36, 60, 100, 150 and 200 W Power Supplies

Once again, power supplies from a Chinese factory have arrived for testing. As you may remember, these tests are aimed either at finding models that offer the best balance of quality and price, or at testing products and getting factory-level issues fixed. I want something simple: power supplies with a decent level of quality that are still affordable.

Two almost slim power supplies rated at nearly 400 W, 12 and 24 V

A couple more power supplies, quite attractive and relatively well made, at least on the outside, but with typical Chinese "quirks" in exaggerated form—at least one of them has them.

Four compact sealed power supplies: 10, 24, 36 and 50 watts, plus a bonus

You can never have too many power supplies. That’s what I thought, too, so today I’m taking a quick look at four compact sealed power supplies, plus a bonus fifth one. It’s not exactly compact, but it is sealed. And that’s not the end of the bonuses—look for more near the end of the article :)

A couple more 12 V power supplies, this time rated at 500 and 600 W

These are the last power supplies in this form factor to come my way for testing—for now, at least. I doubt they’ll be the last in the long run. They left me with mixed feelings: not bad, but with a few “caveats.” As always, more details in the review.

Another installment in my series of reviews of various power supplies. This time, I’m looking at boards from sealed power supplies rated at 60, 100, 150, 200 and 300 W. I think you’ll find it interesting.

Another installment in the power supply review series, and once again it’s a classic: switching power supplies built around the seemingly eternal TL494 and its equivalents.

A few more power supplies, but this time they’re as classic as they come, both in terms of circuit design and construction, and in how budget-friendly they are. Still, I hope you’ll find this useful.

It just so happened that a number of different power supplies ended up on my operating table. And as you can imagine, they didn’t get there for no reason. Since I have a reason, why not take a look at what they’re all about?
Fnirsi DMC-100 Clamp Meter
27-03-2025, 04:12
As part of a promotional campaign, Fnirsi recently offered me a chance to review one of two devices, letting me choose between a measuring tweezer and a clamp meter. As it happens, the clamp meter caught my interest both in its own right and for a very practical use I had in mind. So today, I’m reviewing the DMC-100 clamp meter.
Protection and switching board for Atorch load testers

This story began a long time ago—I think more than a year ago, though its roots actually go back to 2023. Today, I’ll show you what it all led me to.
Electronic Load Based on the CL24 with Charge Control
5-03-2025, 14:31
It all started when I ordered a couple of CL24 loads a while back. They sat around for a while, and I thought, why not build a couple of complete devices around them? So I thought about it, thought about it some more, and did it.
New from TPcell: Makita batteries with USB-PD support—not a review
19-01-2025, 14:01
Sometimes, when looking at tool batteries, I wondered why no one had combined one with a power bank. Yes, I’d come across adapters that offered a similar feature, though only in one direction: discharging. But recently I saw something in the TPcell store that really caught my interest: a battery with a built-in power bank.
A Pair of Cheap Tweezers with Ceramic Tips
13-01-2025, 13:12
Back in the spring, I bought a pair of tweezers on sale (three items for next to nothing), tried them out, and ended up tossing them in my desk drawer. Now I’ve finally found a little time to tell you what they’re like, why I don’t use them, and how they compare with my main pair of tweezers, which I bought quite a while ago.
BW150, Atorch’s new electronic load

Not long ago, I spotted a new product from Atorch, got interested, contacted the manager, negotiated a discount (unfortunately, not a very big one), ordered it for review, received it, and now I’m sharing it with you.
