I got my hands on two more converters from the well-known Chinese company YZXstudio. One is simpler and cheaper, while the other is correspondingly more expensive and comes in a “top-of-the-line” configuration. The second one isn’t just a DC-DC converter, but a universal bidirectional converter. But I think it’s best to read all about them in the review.

Today I'm reviewing a kit for building a useful device of your own: a speaker protection circuit. I'll explain what it is, why you need one, and how to assemble it. And of course, there'll be a few tests.

Not long ago, a friend asked me to do something like an inspection of four 18650 batteries he’d bought at our local market. They were being sold as genuine, but he had his doubts and decided to check. So I decided to put together a short article based on this, with some real-world examples.

As luck would have it—or, more precisely, thanks to my regular reader Alex—I got my hands on another battery made by Samsung. It may not boast a high capacity, but it’s still very interesting, primarily because it’s designed for high-power applications such as e-cigarettes and power tools.

That was part of the reason I agreed to review a product that’s way outside my usual territory: an RC car. The other reason? Well, how could a 45-year-old boy resist the temptation to race an RC car around the floor? :) Warning: heavy traffic!

I was offered the chance to try out an audio cable—not taste it, of course, but try it out in the general sense. I thought, why not? A cable is a useful thing and is sure to come in handy around the house. So today I’m reviewing two cables: a regular one with wires and an optical one.

Today I have not even a micro-review, but more of a nano-review, and it’s about a marker. Yes, it’s almost an ordinary marker, except that it writes in “silver.” Of course, it isn’t real silver, but the color is similar :)

I have a clock at home, and it has served me for many years. But since nothing lasts forever, my clock has started to show its age too. I just couldn't bring myself to throw it away, so I decided to give it a second life. That's what I'll tell you about today.

This is the third power supply from SANMIM and, in my personal opinion, the most interesting of the three. It also looks very much like another power supply model that I think many of my readers will recognize. But you can read all about it in the review.

I’d posted two reviews of SANMIM power supplies and was about to start on a third when I remembered that my main electronic load can handle only 60 W, while the power supply is rated for at least 70 W. So I decided to make a few upgrades to the electronic load while I was at it.
