EVE INR18650-25P 2500mAh - 20A battery (branded as TerraE)
22-07-2022, 16:11
Not long ago, one of my readers decided to buy batteries to replace the ones in his angle grinder battery pack. I was interested too, so I tagged along and ordered one to test.
Single-phase WiFi eWelink relay rated at 63 A
23-02-2022, 23:52
In my previous review, I covered a powerful relay with WiFi remote control and a few other "bells and whistles". I also mentioned that I’d review another relay, and I’ve now finished testing it and can share the results and my conclusions.
DDS238-2 wattmeter, energy meter, WiFi-controlled relay rated for up to 65 A
21-02-2022, 15:43
I love all kinds of interesting electrical gadgets, so I ordered a couple of different ones to try out, compare with others, and tell you about. Today I'm reviewing the first one: a WiFi-controlled relay.
Worx wu533 cordless circular saw
11-02-2022, 14:06
I wouldn't exactly call myself a builder, but I still believe you can never have too many tools, so I ordered something I didn't have yet: a circular saw. And since I prefer cordless tools, I went with a cordless saw. As usual, I'll take a look around, do a little disassembly, run a few tests, and share my conclusions.
60 V 5 A Power Supply and a Few Notes on Modifying It
29-10-2021, 10:48
By a twist of fate, another power supply landed in my hands for a while—or, more precisely, one of the variants of a model I’ve reviewed before. As it happened, though, I had to make a few modifications before testing it. As always, the details are in the review.
Makita Battery-Powered Trim Router
24-10-2021, 18:25
I’ve already reviewed a similar router, but that one was corded. Lately, though, I’ve found cordless tools more and more convenient, so I decided to give this version a try. For the most part, the two tools are very similar, so as I go along I’ll describe the cordless version and share my impressions of using its corded sibling, based on hands-on experience.
ZUBR-D2-63 Voltage Relay from DS Electronics
5-10-2021, 15:34
Some time ago, we got to talking about manufacturers of protection devices, and I said that I consider products from three companies to be high quality: Novatek-Electro, Meandr, and Zubr. Meandr products aren't readily available to me, and I've shown Novatek products several times, so now it's the turn of another Ukrainian manufacturer, DS Electronics, which makes products under the ZUBR trademark.
XYH3606, a universal adjustable converter with WiFi and other goodies
29-09-2021, 12:45
I’ve reviewed a similar converter before—or at least one that looked very much like it. But in this case, the store says it’s the Second generation, i.e. attempt number two :) So why not take a look and see what it’s all about.
VC-115 Voltage Relay from Novatek-Electro
28-09-2021, 13:12
Today I'm reviewing a voltage relay from the fairly well-known Volt Control series, specifically the VC-115 model. Inspection, teardown, tests, conclusions—as usual.
OM-110 Power Limiting Relay by Novatek-Electro
20-09-2021, 22:46
I’d already been asked about this device, and that’s exactly why I ordered one—to get a hands-on look at it. This time, I’ll be looking at a power limiter for connected devices. It can help when the combined power draw of the connected loads might exceed the available power limit.
Sanmim SM-PLG06A power supplies: when power isn't the main thing
17-09-2021, 13:30
Another power supply from Sanmim, but this time it's very compact, though not particularly powerful. As this review shows, it has plenty of interesting features. Inspection, tests, schematic, conclusions.
M3 Plastic Fastener Kit
11-09-2021, 12:30
Another review in the “nano” series, and this time it’s about a very useful little item to have around: fasteners.
Multifunctional EM-126T Wi-Fi relay from Novatek-Electro
7-09-2021, 13:00
It's been quite a while since I last tinkered with Novatek devices, and now I've got several candidates for review. Today we're looking at a multifunctional relay that combines several devices in one, but as always, more details in the review.
Colored Button Caps
5-09-2021, 19:08
Today I have a nano-review of caps for push buttons, also known as “tact switches” or “tactile switches”—whichever term you prefer.
YS-65SCB power supply, 24 V, 65 W
20-08-2021, 11:09
Another power supply I was asked to test. I was interested in it myself, so I ordered one for a review. As usual: inspection, schematic, tests, conclusions.
Ksger Handle for a T12 Soldering Station, or Tips for Soldering Irons
8-08-2021, 01:46
Not long ago, I posted a review of my new compact soldering station, and afterward someone recommended replacing the handle with something more comfortable. I found one of the fairly well-known options, ordered it, gave it a try, and here are my thoughts :)
A Rather Unusual 25/5 V Power Supply
6-08-2021, 12:30
Not long ago, one of my regular readers suggested in the comments that I review an unusual power supply. It caught my interest, so I thought, why not? It certainly stands out from the crowd of common power supplies.
Decent budget BAK N18650CK 3000mAh batteries - 6.1A
5-08-2021, 01:01
BAK batteries have appeared at the well-known Nkon store, and I've already been asked several times to review batteries from this manufacturer. Well, as it happened, I had a few of them on hand.
