Not long ago, a friend asked me to help him buy a drawing tablet.
We picked one, ordered it, paid, and started waiting :)
Anyway, the rest is below the fold. Come on in if you're interested.

Graphics tablets have been around for a long time, but this was the first time I'd had one in my hands, so I was especially interested in figuring it out.
Unfortunately, though, there won't be the usual teardown: the tablet was ordered as a gift, and I really didn't want to damage it.

When preparing material for a review, I usually have a “photo shoot,” pick the photos, move them to a separate folder, number them, and so on. The numbering always starts at 1, but for this review I had to start at zero, since my first photo was taken before I received the tablet.
That was thanks to the seller being very attentive. Some time after I paid for the order, I got an email with a photo of my parcel and a note saying, “Don't worry, we've shipped your parcel. If anything goes wrong, don't get mad at us or give us two stars—just write to us and we'll sort everything out.”
Well, I have to say, that's nice.

The second surprise was that, for the first time, I got a text message from the post office notifying me that a parcel had arrived. Well, I've had them call me about registered mail before, but that's a different story.
This kind of notification was a first, though. For the AliExpress parcels that arrived later, the notification was the usual one: a slip in the mailbox.
Maybe they specify the notification method somewhere?

The third surprise was the size of the parcel. For some reason, when I ordered it, I thought it would be at least half this size.
The ruler in the photo is about 33 cm long (I accidentally put it down the wrong way), but even that isn't long enough.

I hid the rest of the unboxing, along with a note to the seller that I'll send after publishing the review, under a spoiler.

And now, the whole package.
The tablet is wrapped in foam polyethylene (there was also an extra sheet of this material on top of everything).
You can see there are items that aren't listed on the box; more on those later.

The tablet arrived in perfect condition, which is always nice.
The PRO version differs from the regular one in two ways. First, it has 12 programmable buttons instead of 8.

There are four fairly large rubber feet on the bottom. They don't slide around on the desk. They might start to eventually, but for now the tablet stays put and doesn't wander around :)
The screws holding the bottom cover are arranged around the perimeter.

The label shows the date of manufacture (presumably January 2, 2015, second shift), as well as the current consumption and supply voltage: 5 V, 60 mA.

There's a MiniUSB port on the left side. In my opinion, that's a good thing, since it's noticeably sturdier than MicroUSB.
There's also a MicroSD card slot on the side. This is the second difference between the PRO and regular versions of the tablet. The idea is that you can work in different places and carry all your files with you without needing a flash drive. I think that's very convenient.

The tablet also comes with a 4 GB flash drive.

The package includes two manuals: one for Windows users and the other for Mac users.
There was also a CD with drivers, manuals, and software.
As an extra, the seller included a card asking me not to give him a bad review if anything went wrong, but to contact him with any problems. Nothing went wrong, so I didn't need the card, but it was a nice touch.

The package also includes two cables: one to power the tablet and the other to charge the stylus.

The power cable was a pleasant surprise: it's quite thick, yet flexible.
It's about 1.5 m long, so you may not need an extension cable. The connector fits snugly and securely into the tablet, so I have no complaints about the cable.
The other cable is about 1 m long, thinner, and more basic.

The pen came in its own small bag, and I had no complaints about it.
It has the now-fashionable soft-touch finish, which doesn't slip in your hand. I do have some reservations about the buttons, though.
When using the pen, they can sometimes get in the way more than they help. Maybe it's just a matter of getting used to them; fortunately, you can disable them in the software.

The pen is about 145 mm long.
It's wireless; the whole system uses electromagnetic resonance technology.
Positioning works without any issues.
You do need to get used to the tablet tracking the stylus's absolute position relative to its surface.
In other words, a tap with the pen in the center corresponds to a click in the center of the computer screen.
When you hold the pen above the surface, it detects it from about 5–10 mm away. The cursor moves around the screen, and touching the surface with the pen is equivalent to clicking the left mouse button.
You can use it instead of a mouse altogether, but it takes some getting used to because a mouse uses relative coordinates. You can lift a mouse and move it 5 cm, and the cursor will stay where it was; you can't do that with the pen.

There's a charging port on the back. The manufacturer claims up to 600 hours of operation. Testing that would take a long time, but during my tests it worked for quite a while without needing a recharge.
A red LED near the buttons lights up while charging and turns off when charging is complete. The LED is set quite deep inside the case, so it's hard to see :(

The tip is similar in shape and size to the tip of an ordinary ballpoint pen.
It retracts slightly when pressed.
The manufacturer claims 2048 levels of pen pressure sensitivity. I obviously didn't count them all, but I can say that it responds quite precisely.

A pen stand is also included. In my opinion, it's completely pointless: the pen sits perfectly well on the desk, and the buttons keep it from rolling around.

The manufacturer would have been better off making the holder so the pen could stand upright (without pressing the tip). It's not very convenient to pick up the pen when it's lying horizontally.

Inside the holder is a little “stash”: four spare tips (though there's room for eight) and a removal tool.

HUION 1060 Pro, a pretty decent graphics tablet.HUION 1060 Pro, a pretty decent graphics tablet.

The tip is a tiny piece about 18 mm long, but the pen won't work without it.
I don't know how long it lasts, but I don't think it's easy to wear out.

As I mentioned above, the package includes a tool for removing the pen tip.
I tried pulling the tip out with my fingernails, but couldn't, so try not to lose the tool.

To remove the tip, slide the tool all the way on, squeeze it, and pull out the tip (it should fit into the notch in the tool). The tip comes out quite easily.

The seller also included a gift: an original glove for working with the tablet.
The glove is synthetic, but stretches easily. To be honest, I didn't see the point of it, since working with the tablet was perfectly fine without one. I only unpacked it for the photos.
Still, it's a nice little bonus, and the future owner might like it.

And here’s my paw next to the tablet. When you move the pen across the tablet’s surface, the brand logo lights up.

Since I draw like a chicken with its feet, I asked my daughter to continue the testing. She draws much better than I do, and I was also curious to hear what she thought of using the tablet.
As a test, she drew a little gift for this site: a cat named Muska.
Incidentally, she drew it without using the tablet’s buttons, and she’d never used a graphics tablet before—she just sat down and drew (although it took quite a while).
So this is my first review with a kitty in it :)

HUION 1060 Pro, a pretty good graphics tablet.

Summary.
Pros
The tablet works perfectly
Good bundle
Easy to use (after a little time to get used to it)
Excellent build quality; nothing is loose or coming apart.
I liked that it comes with a card reader and a flash drive
Pleasant and responsive seller.

Cons
The packaging isn’t very sturdy. Since it’s a fairly large item, it’s best to ask the seller to pack it more securely.
The software only supports eight hardware buttons, but I think this can be worked around, since all the buttons work at the hardware level (they produce characters when tested in Notepad).

This time, the opinion is not mine but my daughter’s, since she used the tablet longer than I did.
It’s comfortable to use, but you definitely need time to get used to it. The ability to edit your drawing was a definite plus—that is, undoing a stroke you got wrong. And as it turned out, using the tablet instead of a mouse is perfectly doable too, although it may feel awkward at first. There was one minor issue: the pen “goes to sleep” after sitting idle for a while. A single click wakes it up again, but I understand that this is normal.
Overall, she liked the tablet; it was a positive experience all around.
As for the price, I think you could try negotiating a lower price with the seller than the one listed in the title.

I hope you found this review interesting and useful.
