Batteries of the Future

Batteries are devices designed to store electrical energy and repeatedly power various electrical appliances. Our world is surrounded by power grids and, to a large extent, automated with electrical equipment. So each of us uses different types of batteries to some degree.

There are many different types of batteries, varying in voltage, application, specific energy, chemical composition, and safety.

But humanity never stands still, and we continue to develop every field around us, finding more promising ways to make batteries.

Some of the most promising projects include batteries using silicon nanowires (which will increase capacity and reduce charging time), batteries with carbon nanowires (a coating with electrolyte additives increased the original capacity fivefold), lithium-air batteries (significantly lighter than conventional graphite batteries), batteries with tin anodes (which will increase service life and capacity while reducing charging time), and batteries using magnetite (the hardest biomaterial on Earth).

Half of these projects still need further development and approval, which could take about 10 years, while some promise to enter production as early as this year.
