Good capacitors for motherboards and more.

I was looking for capacitors to repair motherboards and various power supplies. I found what I think are some decent ones. More details below.

This review is aimed more at electronics hobbyists and people who repair various kinds of electronics than at the people who use them. I hope it will be useful to them.
I happened to get hold of a decent motherboard, but it had bulging capacitors. I also often get power supplies brought in for repair. I used to buy capacitors at the market, but this time I decided to order them from AliExpress. Similar ones at the market cost about 30% more, but the selection is limited to CapXon and Jamicon. I prefer Rubycon, but you hardly ever see them at the market.
The seller had a discount, so they cost me 11.75. The seller often has discounts, by the way; you just have to wait.

They arrived pretty quickly, and this is what they looked like when I picked them up —


Yes, you read that right: there were 97 capacitors, not 100. I messaged the seller, and they offered me a discount on my next order. I didn't film the unboxing and count; I couldn't be bothered, and it was easier to let it go. But if you order these, keep it in mind. It's a small thing, but still annoying.

The capacitors came in a handy resealable bag, and that's how I keep them in my desk drawer with my other parts.


These are MBZ series capacitors, which the manufacturer describes as Ultra Low ESR

Naturally, I took some measurements—what would a review be without them? The meter isn't calibrated; it's homemade, and I calibrated it as the author recommended at pro-radio.ru/measure/3288/. The battery had run down, so I had to power it from an external power supply, but that's actually more reliable :)




I received the capacitors back in March. Right after they arrived, I replaced 24 on a motherboard and repaired about 10 power supplies for routers and similar devices. After 2.5 months of continuous operation, not one has failed. (The period is obviously short; I could desolder one after a while and measure its ESR again.)
The capacitors have trimmed leads, apparently intended for automated assembly, but they never made it there and ended up at my house instead. They were actually more convenient for me to use than regular ones with standard-length leads.

My verdict —
These capacitors are most likely genuine, their parameters are within spec, and the packaging and delivery were fine. I recommend buying from this seller—with the caveat about the quantity.
