30 Batteries: 2021 Review Roundup
As 2021 draws to a close, and following tradition, I decided to publish my annual roundup of battery reviews.
This time there are fewer than I expected, but I hope it will still be useful.
As usual, a reminder: to keep up with new posts on the blog, I recommend following me on Instagram, where I'll post notifications about every new topic and maybe write about something interesting now and then — link to my account
Just in case, I'll start with links to previous posts, especially since some of the batteries and tests are still relevant today.

2020 42 Batteries: Review Roundup
A note about this roundup.
As last year, most of the batteries came from AliExpress/Alibaba, but some were sent in by readers, and others were bought from a Ukrainian store.
The categories are somewhat arbitrary, but they make it easier to understand what each battery is intended for. Models with protection are shown in bold.
High-drain
Mid-range
High-capacity
Other Li-Ion
LiFePO4 and LTO
.
Since the testing procedure was the same as in the previous tests, I'll simply repeat what I wrote earlier:
First, a preliminary run in a basic charger/discharger to measure capacity, followed by cycles at 0.2C, 0.5C, and 1C, then depending on the battery, at 1, 2, 3, or 4C, or at 2C, 10, 15, or 20A, with temperature measurements.
Throughout the process, I tried to stick to the same procedure, so the results in this roundup will be presented according to the same format:
1. Packaging type (box — a simple box, case — with a clasp), price, store link, review link.
2. Appearance
3. Dimensions and weight
4. “Break-in” cycle
5. Charging graph in the recommended “normal” mode after discharging at 0.2C
6. Discharge graphs at different currents for the first battery, plus thermal images at maximum settings
7. The same for the second battery
8. Impedance measurements before testing, after “break-in,” and at the end
The only thing that's changed since last year is the thermal camera (the photo still shows the old one); I now have a model with higher resolution. Everything else is unchanged.

These batteries aren't particularly remarkable. There are models with higher capacity and models that can deliver more current; these are more of a middle-of-the-road option. Still, my tests showed that there's a very good chance these are Samsung INR21700-40T cells in different "clothing."

These batteries have a rather unusual form factor—or, more precisely, a larger diameter. They're essentially somewhere between an 18650 and a 20700 (not to be confused with a 21700). Unfortunately, it turned out they're not very good...

These batteries have already been covered in my earlier reviews. In short, they're excellent... except for the price.

I'd certainly like to run some more comparisons, but I can't think of any specific ones that would be interesting. In any case, if you need more details or additional comparisons, it's worth checking out the review of the battery you're interested in first. There's a good chance it includes more comparative graphs.
There's no point comparing prices at all, since some of them are no longer very relevant, especially lately, unfortunately.
That's all from me. I hope you found it useful. By the way, there's a chance this digest will be the last one; it's unlikely there will be enough “test subjects” next year.
This time there are fewer than I expected, but I hope it will still be useful.

These batteries use a well-known but gradually disappearing form factor. The cells themselves are decent, but their capacity falls a little short of the stated figure.

There's every reason to believe this is an INR21700-50S, and I can say that its specs are top-notch, but unfortunately, the price isn't.

Comparison graphs
.
As before, here are comparisons of all the batteries in this section at 0.2C, 1C, and near-maximum discharge rates.
The comparison isn't entirely fair, but I think there's still useful information to be found.

1C

15 A, the highest current common to all of them, although some can deliver more.
