Wismec WS-04 atomizer with a resistance of 1.3 ohms and a power rating of 8–14 W

Not long ago, I posted a review of a rather unusual electronic cigarette from Wismec, and mentioned that I’d ordered some atomizers for it. I liked a particular type of heating element, and I also found out that they’re hard to find in local shops, so I decided to order some spares from AliExpress.
So, here’s a short review with lots of photos.


There are at least four types of atomizers of this kind, or at least there were when I placed my order. The listing looked a little different back then, though, and the only option was to choose by resistance.


While my order was on its way, a fourth type appeared: WS-M.
The heating element has a resistance of 0.27 Ω and is rated for 35–45 W. It’s also given five stars for both “flavor” and “vapor production,” but my experience trying a similar 0.2 Ω atomizer suggests I probably won’t like this one either, especially since its metal mesh design looks very similar.


The delivery speed was a pleasant surprise, but the seller took an incredibly long time to ship the package. I placed an order at another store at the same time, and not only did they ship it before this one, it had already arrived!

But I have absolutely no complaints about the packaging. I picked up two packages at the post office at the same time: one contained various voltmeters, the other atomizers. Knowing roughly how big each item was, I thought the voltmeters would be in the box, since the other package was in a plain envelope. But it turned out to be exactly the opposite.
Not only was it packed in a box, everything inside was wrapped up like a set of Russian nesting dolls.


Eventually, I got to the small black box.


The box is generic, but for some reason the only resistance markings available are 0.2 and 0.25 Ω. The 1.3 Ω rating appears only on the barcode.


Under the barcode was a code for checking whether the product was genuine. I scratched off the protective coating and decided to check it. I went to the Wismec website and found the Serial number field, where you enter the verification code.


The check confirmed that the product was genuine, gave me its serial number, and, for some reason, my external IP address.


The atomizers come in packs of five.



They look just like the one that came with the e-cigarette, at least I can’t see any significant differences.


The manufacturer’s logo looks a little nicer in the picture than it does as a laser engraving on the atomizer, though.


This is a very specialized product, and the only thing I can really check is the stated resistance. The first atomizer I tested was almost exactly on spec, with such a tiny difference that you could use it as a reference resistor :)


The rest is simple. First, take the tank apart. In my case, it was quite a struggle: for some reason, it absolutely refused to unscrew, so I had to hold one part with pliers...
But I got it apart in the end, unscrewed the old atomizer, and screwed in the new one to try it out.


Then I first wet the wick through the special openings, screwed the tank back together, and filled it in the usual way.


The heating element is rated for 8–14 W. The box mod lets you set its power anywhere from 1 to 69 W at 9 V, so be careful—you could accidentally burn out the heating element, as I did with the previous one :(


Then I set the power to whatever works best for me, and that’s it.


Ready to use.


That’s the short review—written in a style that’s quite unusual for me, and about a product that’s also unusual for my reviews. The only thing I can complain about is how long the seller took to ship the package; I was already thinking they’d forgotten about it. But everything worked out: the product arrived, the quantity and quality are as expected, its authenticity has been verified, and the price is right. What more could you ask for? :)
