A quick look at a small pair of tweezers

I ordered some things from Taobao not long ago and needed something to fill out the package. I spotted these tweezers and ordered one to try, just out of curiosity.
This is probably one of the shortest reviews ever :)

The packaging is nothing special, just a small blister pack. It got twisted out of shape during shipping, but nothing was damaged.


The back of the package lists all the available options. I had no idea there were so many.


The seller offers two versions of the tweezers, with straight or bent tips. The straight-tip version is the cheapest; you can also buy bent tips separately for about a dollar.


The tweezers are held shut with a rubber band. I don't use this kind at work, and usually leave my tweezers open.


They weigh 21.3 grams, just 0.6 grams less than my usual pair. They're 130 mm long, compared with 135 mm for mine, so they're very similar in that respect too.
The only significant difference from the pair I'm used to is the pin that keeps the tips from shifting relative to each other when you twist them.


The tips are attached with four small screws, and the finish looks quite neat. They're advertised as ceramic, but I can't say for sure. They don't melt, though, and they ring when tapped. I also couldn't scratch them with the sharp edge of a screwdriver, so they may well be ceramic.


1. There's a slight difference in the tip lengths. You could probably fix it by unscrewing and refitting them, but they're fine as they are for me.
2. The tips are slightly misaligned. Unfortunately, it's hard to see in the photo. I fixed it the same way, since that bothers me more than the difference in length.
3, 4. They're comfortable for picking up 1206 and 0805 components, and the parts don't slip out. I rarely work with smaller components, but I think these would handle 0604 too.


That's all I wanted to show. Personally, I like them. I could have got the bent-tip version, but I'm more used to straight tips. I might pick up another pair on AliExpress later.
