A couple more Murata US18650VTC6 cells and a comparison with the previous batteries
I won't go into a long account of the purchase this time—just a brief review of a couple of popular VTC6 cells. As a bonus, I'll compare them with cells sent to me earlier by one of my readers and bought from the same store, nkon.
Genuine LG INR18650-HG2 Batteries and My First Experience Buying from nkon
I've already reviewed quite a few batteries from nkon, but those were sent to me by one of my readers. Now I've finally got around to buying from the store myself, and as it turns out, it's not difficult at all. But it's best to read all about it in the review.
An Amateur Review of the Ambiguous “Wireless Earphones with a Wire,” the KZ BTE, After 7 Months of Heavy Use
26-07-2019, 14:25
Hello everyone! Today I’d like to share my thoughts on the first Bluetooth earphones from the well-known Chinese company KZ, which I’ve used extensively since the end of October 2018.
Another batch of Liitokala NCR18650B 3400 mAh batteries
16-07-2019, 17:54
A friend once brought me a couple of batteries to test. He bought them from us, but as far as I know, they came from AliExpress, either from the Liitokala store or Charger Battery Store. In any case, they’re essentially the same batteries, so I thought, why not test them? It might come in handy for someone.

14-07-2019, 02:17
Recently, I wrote that I’d bought a selection of different electronic components at our local shop. Among them were electrolytic capacitors of various types, which I needed for a small modification to one of my converters. Today I’ll tell you how simply replacing a capacitor can significantly change a converter’s—or power supply’s—performance.

Someone sent me information about a Banggood sale, so I decided to share it with readers.
Affordable Sndway SW-T40 Laser Distance Meter
7-07-2019, 22:20
I’ve already reviewed a couple of laser distance meters, and now a friend wanted a simple model too. He ordered one for himself so he could try it out and, while he was at it, tell me about it and put together a short review.

50 Hz Transformers, or Almost 15 kg of Iron in One Article

6-07-2019, 03:52
It turns out that even the widespread arrival of switching power supplies in our lives—which I’ve told you about in many reviews—hasn’t managed to completely replace conventional transformers. They’re used where a switching power supply isn’t suitable because of its “quirks,” especially in linear power supplies, audio equipment, and many applications where interference is undesirable. Today, I’m going to talk about these transformers.
A couple more multi-standard DC-DC voltage converter modules from YZXstudio
30-06-2019, 10:42
I got my hands on two more converters from the well-known Chinese company YZXstudio. One is simpler and cheaper, while the other is correspondingly more expensive and comes in a “top-of-the-line” configuration. The second one isn’t just a DC-DC converter, but a universal bidirectional converter. But I think it’s best to read all about them in the review.
Kit for assembling a speaker protection board
29-06-2019, 13:07
Today I'm reviewing a kit for building a useful device of your own: a speaker protection circuit. I'll explain what it is, why you need one, and how to assemble it. And of course, there'll be a few tests.

Batteries: counterfeit or genuine? How it happens

21 0928
Not long ago, a friend asked me to do something like an inspection of four 18650 batteries he’d bought at our local market. They were being sold as genuine, but he had his doubts and decided to check. So I decided to put together a short article based on this, with some real-world examples.
High-current Samsung INR 18650-20S battery
As luck would have it—or, more precisely, thanks to my regular reader Alex—I got my hands on another battery made by Samsung. It may not boast a high capacity, but it’s still very interesting, primarily because it’s designed for high-power applications such as e-cigarettes and power tools.
Jeep Willys Transporter-6 in camouflage
22-06-2019, 10:18
Several times, people in the comments suggested I branch out from my usual review topics—power systems, computers, and TV boxes. That was part of the reason I agreed to review a product that’s way outside my usual territory: an RC car. The other reason? Well, how could a 45-year-old boy resist the temptation to race an RC car around the floor? :) Warning: heavy traffic!
A pair of cables for connecting audio equipment
21-06-2019, 00:15
I was offered the chance to try out an audio cable—not taste it, of course, but try it out in the general sense. I thought, why not? A cable is a useful thing and is sure to come in handy around the house. So today I’m reviewing two cables: a regular one with wires and an optical one.
Silver Marker
20-06-2019, 11:36
Today I have not even a micro-review, but more of a nano-review, and it’s about a marker. Yes, it’s almost an ordinary marker, except that it writes in “silver.” Of course, it isn’t real silver, but the color is similar :)
A display for a Start-7231 clock, or a post about nostalgia
8-06-2019, 02:19
I have a clock at home, and it has served me for many years. But since nothing lasts forever, my clock has started to show its age too. I just couldn't bring myself to throw it away, so I decided to give it a second life. That's what I'll tell you about today.
SANMIM GPT70A-12 power supply, 70 W, 12 V
4-06-2019, 02:59
This is the third power supply from SANMIM and, in my personal opinion, the most interesting of the three. It also looks very much like another power supply model that I think many of my readers will recognize. But you can read all about it in the review.
