Not long ago, I was asked to test and review some batteries for Makita power tools. Since this is right up my alley, and the batteries were expected to be good, I thought, why not? In short and subjectively: they’re solid. For the long, objective version, read on.

The other day, one of my readers offered me some very interesting batteries to test. It turned out he lived just a couple of tram stops away, so of course I couldn't turn him down. My wife and I went for an evening walk, met up, and now I can show you the test results.

Thanks to one of my readers, I got my hands on some very interesting batteries. I should say right away, though, that these days the people most interested in them are precious-metal refiners. I think many radio amateurs know who they are.

These are the fourth Vapcell batteries I've received for review. They use the relatively uncommon 18500 form factor, but have a fairly high claimed capacity for their size, of course.

Today I'm reviewing Vapcell high-capacity 18650 batteries. I can say right away that there's nothing unusual about them, except that they aren't even listed on the Vapcell website.

Back to the topic of off-grid power. Today I have some 32700 LiFePO4 batteries on my desk. Why “again”? Because this is already my fourth review of batteries in this size, and my second review of similar batteries from Vapcell.

It's been quite a while since I last wrote about Vapcell batteries, but I recently received a package from them with four samples. So today, here's part one: 21700 batteries rated at 5200mAh.

I've been asked about testing BAK batteries more than once, and I even had one of this company's products. But recently, circumstances worked out so that I got my hands on a few more batteries, and there was another BAK in the batch, which naturally caught my interest.

As it happened, a battery for an e-reader from the well-known Kindle brand ended up in my hands, and I decided to test it. I was especially interested because not only had I bought it on AliExpress, but it had also been sitting in a box for a couple of years.

About a month and a half ago, I decided to run a life test on a fairly well-known battery. I thought it might be useful.

I got my hands on another batch of batteries, and this time they’re 21700 cells rated at 4800 mAh.

This is the fourth battery from LiitoKala, but this time it’s not a 26650, and it’s not 3.7 V either. As always, find out more in the review.
