I’m often asked about batteries, building battery packs, and where to buy cells without ending up with junk. Today I have a short article and video on the subject.

A small addendum to my review of the Vapcell N40 batteries in the 18650 size, with a capacity of 4000 mAh. Since these batteries are quite unusual, I decided to test their self-discharge, and today I can share some results.

This is somewhat of a promotional post, but in my opinion, if a manufacturer sells a product with honest specs, I don't see anything wrong with showcasing it. Especially since quite a few people bought these batteries after my previous reviews, and I don't recall anyone complaining about them. Plus, there's a sale on right now, with coupons and so on.

Today’s review will be relatively short, but it serves as background for another review. Still, I’d also like to tell you a little about one of America’s oldest companies. I hope you’ll find it interesting.

A small package arrived recently with four batteries inside. To be honest, I wasn't expecting it, but the batteries inside were an even bigger surprise.

It's been quite a while since I last tested batteries. I needed some cells in the relatively uncommon 18350 size to repair a vape, so I bought some, tested them, and here are the results.

A friend recently asked me to help a relative of his repair a power station. Since I wanted not only to help but also to see what was inside and how it worked, I naturally said, “Send it over.” The station has now been repaired and inspected, and I have something to tell you about it. Since this is essentially two articles in one, though, it’s going to be fairly long.

So, I’ve just finished testing the second battery I received, and this one is the BL1860, rated at 6 Ah. Inspection, teardown, tests, conclusions—as usual.
