Protection and switching board for Atorch load testers
23-03-2025, 04:11
This story began a long time ago—I think more than a year ago, though its roots actually go back to 2023. Today, I’ll show you what it all led me to.
Electronic Load Based on the CL24 with Charge Control
5-03-2025, 14:31
It all started when I ordered a couple of CL24 loads a while back. They sat around for a while, and I thought, why not build a couple of complete devices around them? So I thought about it, thought about it some more, and did it.
New from TPcell: Makita batteries with USB-PD support—not a review
19-01-2025, 14:01
Sometimes, when looking at tool batteries, I wondered why no one had combined one with a power bank. Yes, I’d come across adapters that offered a similar feature, though only in one direction: discharging. But recently I saw something in the TPcell store that really caught my interest: a battery with a built-in power bank.
A Pair of Cheap Tweezers with Ceramic Tips
13-01-2025, 13:12
Back in the spring, I bought a pair of tweezers on sale (three items for next to nothing), tried them out, and ended up tossing them in my desk drawer. Now I’ve finally found a little time to tell you what they’re like, why I don’t use them, and how they compare with my main pair of tweezers, which I bought quite a while ago.
BW150, Atorch’s new electronic load
9-01-2025, 17:07
Not long ago, I spotted a new product from Atorch, got interested, contacted the manager, negotiated a discount (unfortunately, not a very big one), ordered it for review, received it, and now I’m sharing it with you.

8-01-2025, 18:36
Not long ago, I posted a couple of reviews—one of a voltage converter and one of a power supply—and mentioned that I’d bought them specifically for a new version of one of my projects: a battery tester. Today, I’ll tell you a little about it.
Protocol trigger for Atorch electronic loads

A quick look at a handy little gadget. I bought a few to have on hand, and maybe I’ll include one with one of the new loads.
60 V 300 W Power Supply, Version Two
30-12-2024, 12:36
As I mentioned recently, I needed to build a powerful charger for one of my custom electronic loads. I’ve already shown you the converter, so now it’s time for the power supply. I’ve reviewed a similar SMPS before, which makes this all the more interesting—we’ll compare them.
XY6020L Adjustable Voltage Converter
23-12-2024, 03:15
A quick look at an inexpensive adjustable 60 V, 20 A voltage converter. It’s not exactly great, but I wouldn’t say it’s terrible either. Overall, you get what you pay for.
HAKADI 26700 3500mAh, Na-ion batteries
17-12-2024, 15:16
Na-ion batteries based on a relatively new chemistry (though that depends on how you look at it) have finally made their way to me. I bought them specifically for a review and to satisfy my own curiosity, and now I can share the results of some tests with you. I think you'll find them interesting.
ANENG AL01: Review of an Inexpensive Multimeter That Can Measure Inductance
30-11-2024, 20:59
Some time ago, I published a roundup of various products and included a nice-looking multimeter that can measure inductance. I also decided to buy one to review and test it, thinking it might be useful. Well, I received it yesterday, tested it, and decided to write a review while it was still fresh in my mind.
SCP-35-12, a very strange UPS from Meanwell
27-11-2024, 03:34
This article came about spontaneously. A few days ago, a friend messaged me saying his Mean Well UPS had stopped working: it runs for about an hour and a half, then shuts off, even though the battery is supposedly 12+12 Ah. By the way, this is the same friend who had previously sent me another Mean Well UPS to turn into a UPS :)
Silicone bumpers for RD60xx series power supplies
26-11-2024, 02:08
While putting together a list of products for the 11.11 sale, I spotted some interesting gadgets: bumpers for Riden power supplies. Yes, they’re highly specialized and somewhat controversial, but this time, along with the work-related orders, I wanted to buy something “just for fun”—and I think I made the right call.
New arrivals in the world of DC-DC converters and more
21-11-2024, 16:14
I hadn't kept up with the latest additions to the range of converters on AliExpress for a while, but then the app showed me something new. I got curious, started looking into it, and it turned out there were some interesting new products. And as a bonus, here's a few other little things that might come in handy too.
A good discount on the DL24MP electronic load
11-11-2024, 15:41
We all know that sellers often pull a fast one during sales, but sometimes there are genuine discounts. Since I know the prices of some products pretty well, I can tell right away whether a discount is real. Anyway, if you’ve been looking for a DL24MP electronic load at a good price, this is the place to go.

Continuing the topic of high-power electronic loads

8-11-2024, 12:34
Not long ago, I showed a new version of an electronic load. In a sense, it’s a downgrade—a step backward rather than forward—but it’s not that simple, so I decided to put together a short article.

The story of the TEC-80K electronic load, or a year-long journey

5 5983
5-10-2024, 12:17
Yes, today this isn’t a review or an article, but a story. It’s about the TEC-80K electronic load, which is fairly popular and well known, and about my new device based on this controller.
Microsoft Surface Pro 9 tablet: a purchase review
5-09-2024, 15:27
Today, this isn't a review so much as a look back at my experience searching for, choosing and buying a tablet from one of our online stores, along with a few recommendations based on what I learned along the way. The tablet in question is the Microsoft Surface Pro 9.
