CL24, a preview of Atorch’s new electronic load model
10-11-2023, 02:02
Those who regularly read my reviews know that I’ve already reviewed several electronic loads from Atorch. In each one, I’ve predicted (or suggested) what the next models might include. But less than six months later, the company has released a new model with the rather strange name CL24. In this preview, I’ll try to figure out what it’s all about.
Powerful electronic load based on the DL24 board and a new power module — updated
6-11-2023, 00:01
Not long ago, I featured a new power module in several of my videos. You may also have seen the backstory behind it in a few other reviews. I can now say that the project has reached a kind of logical conclusion. Though, to me, a conclusion is really an opportunity to improve on what came before and start something new, perhaps even more interesting.
Used GP INR18650-26L batteries from OLX
I recently posted a review of LG HE2 batteries, but as I mentioned then, someone sent me a couple more batteries to test. Many thanks to him for that, since battery reviews are very useful.
LG ICR18650-HE2 2500mAh batteries
One of my readers contacted me asking me to investigate and possibly help determine whether the batteries he received from Nkon were genuine. In this case, they were LG ICR18650-HE2 2500mAh batteries.
T2S Plus, a thermal imaging camera attachment with macro mode, compared with Hti
20-10-2023, 20:39
I've been using thermal imaging cameras for a long time. My first one was a very basic model with a resolution of 60x60. I later replaced it with an HT-A2 with a resolution of 320x240, and today I'm reviewing a model with a resolution of 256x192. It might look like a downgrade, but is it really?
FNIRSI-FNB58 USB Tester: A Metrology-Focused Review
17-10-2023, 15:46
Almost a year after this model came out, I finally got my hands on one. It was inevitable—I enjoy tinkering with this kind of thing. There are already tons of reviews of this model, so I decided to look at it as a measuring instrument and, more simply, check its measurement accuracy.
Owon CM2100 clamp multimeter with standalone data logger
15-10-2023, 13:17
An interesting little device has landed in my hands: a clamp meter with 1 mA resolution and Bluetooth connectivity. As usual, I’ll take a look, run some tests, take it apart, and share my conclusions.
Sanmim GPN30E-15: a power supply that really surprised me
12-10-2023, 10:44
I needed a power supply for one of my new projects (among other things), so I decided to order a few different models to try out and test. Today, I’m reviewing the first one. A look inside, tests, and conclusions.
Molicel INR21700-P45B 4500mAh batteries - 45A
As luck would have it, I got my hands on one of the new batteries from Molicel. It’s a very interesting cell, primarily because it combines relatively high capacity with a high rated discharge current. Inspection, tests, comparisons, conclusions—the usual.

I’m often asked about batteries, building battery packs, and where to buy cells without ending up with junk. Today I have a short article and video on the subject.
A simple upgrade for an 8×18650 power bank
26-08-2023, 01:21
About a month and a half ago, I reviewed an inexpensive power bank case that was convenient, affordable, capable of delivering up to 22 W, and supported fast-charging protocols. But ever since then, I’ve wanted not only to fit it with the highest-capacity batteries possible, but also to make a few improvements.
Vapcell N40 batteries, 4000 mAh in the 18650 size, self-discharge test
24-08-2023, 13:45
A small addendum to my review of the Vapcell N40 batteries in the 18650 size, with a capacity of 4000 mAh. Since these batteries are quite unusual, I decided to test their self-discharge, and today I can share some results.
A new series of batteries from TPcell, with 21700 cells and capacities of up to 15 Ah
22-08-2023, 12:33
This is somewhat of a promotional post, but in my opinion, if a manufacturer sells a product with honest specs, I don't see anything wrong with showcasing it. Especially since quite a few people bought these batteries after my previous reviews, and I don't recall anyone complaining about them. Plus, there's a sale on right now, with coupons and so on.

Some time ago, I announced a new product from RuiDeng: an enclosure with a power supply. The kit I ordered has finally arrived, and that’s what I want to tell you about today.
Protection board, battery holder, and converting the ride-on car to a battery pack
5-08-2023, 21:29
Last time I showed the lead-acid battery that “couldn’t cut it.” I said there would be a second part, so today I’ll tell you what I ended up having to do to get something that works.

A4Tech X7-200 MP Gaming Mouse Pad
I got a new mouse pad today, and I liked it enough to put together a quick little review in case it might be useful to someone.
