Vapcell IFR32700 G62 batteries, take two
20-06-2023, 21:09
Yes, I’ve already reviewed these batteries, and to be honest, I didn’t really expect to see them in the package. But first, they’ve already been sent, and second, I have something to compare them with, so I’ll test them too. And yes, these are the last batteries from the six pairs I recently received.
Vapcell F56 5600mAh batteries, almost top of the line in 21700 size
20-06-2023, 01:08
Not long ago, I mentioned that some interesting batteries were coming, and now it’s time for what I think is the most interesting one: batteries with almost the highest capacity in the 21700 form factor.
Vapcell N36 18650 3650mAh batteries

Another interesting set of batteries, interesting above all for their high capacity.
Atorch DL24EW Electronic Load
16-06-2023, 14:30
About a month ago, I posted a preview of a new version of the electronic load from Atorch. I’d already reviewed a couple of their devices, and they’ve updated it a couple of times since then, but somehow I never got around to testing and reviewing it. Now I’ve got the latest version of their device, the DL24EW, in my hands.

Vapcell T39 21700 3900mAh: just high-current batteries

Today's review will be relatively short, although I wouldn't say these batteries are uninteresting—quite the opposite, really. They just didn't involve any intrigue or mysteries.
INR21700M52V: batteries even Google hadn't heard of
15-06-2023, 01:33
As I wrote in my previous review, almost all the batteries I received have some feature that caught my interest. Here’s the second one I’m testing, and what caught my interest wasn’t so much its specs as the fact that there’s no information about it anywhere.

Vapcell LG-INR21700H40B batteries with a capacity of 4000 mAh

Recently, I unexpectedly received a new batch of batteries from my sponsors at Vapcell. At first, I expected a routine series of reviews, but things turned out to be much more interesting: all (or almost all) of the batteries have some unusual feature, and a few even left me stumped. But you can find out all about them in the review.
New RuiDeng RK6006 Adjustable Converter
8-06-2023, 16:03
About a month and a half ago, I posted a preview of RuiDeng’s new adjustable converter, the RK6006. I finally got my hands on one recently, tested it, and today I’ll share my thoughts.
Vapcell A11 18350 1100mAh batteries from a local shop
It's been quite a while since I last tested batteries. I needed some cells in the relatively uncommon 18350 size to repair a vape, so I bought some, tested them, and here are the results.
Decent leads for a bench power supply and alligator clips
31-05-2023, 11:49
Like many others, I use leads with alligator clips to connect a bench power supply or electronic load, and I felt like replacing them. Of course, I could make my own leads, and I do use some, but I was feeling a bit lazy. I searched AliExpress, found what looked like a decent option, ordered it, and decided to share my impressions.
More fans, or how I bought Sunon fans
28-05-2023, 13:01
As I’ve already mentioned, I needed some high-performance fans for one of my projects. First I bought a couple of AVC fans, then, almost as an afterthought, three more from Sunon. Tests showed that the AVC fans I bought didn’t live up to their specs, but it was hard for me to judge what they should be like since I had nothing to compare them with. Today, though, I’ll show you the Sunon fans and compare them with the originals.

A Common and Dangerous Mistake in PCB Layout

Today’s article isn’t just for the sake of it—it’s about a specific topic, as they say. I’ll be discussing one mistake that, for some reason, crops up all too often. And it’s not just beginners who make it; even quite experienced engineers do. Let me say right away: I didn’t write this post to hate on anyone, but rather for the sake of safety. And believe me, I have my reasons.

LCR meter: what is it and what is it used for?

12 0009
14-05-2023, 12:51
As it happens, radio amateurs most often use three basic instruments: a voltmeter, an ammeter, and an ohmmeter. But sometimes a job calls for a more complex and less common instrument: an LCR meter. Of course, these instruments come in both professional and "hobbyist" versions, but first, let's look at what an LCR meter actually is.
EGS002 board and display for building a pure sine wave inverter
12-05-2023, 13:37
Today's review will be very short, partly because there isn't really much to review here, and partly because the project this board was intended for is still in development. Still, I hope you'll find it useful.
Interesting 70 mm AVC fans
11-05-2023, 13:26
Continuing the discussion about electronic loads. As everyone knows, a load is something that usually gets very hot. And when something gets hot, it sometimes needs cooling. The most common solution is a heatsink, and when that isn't enough, you add a fan as well. Fans aren't exactly cheap in local stores these days, especially high-performance ones, so I ordered some from China.
Used FDA59N30 transistors and a comparison with new ones
9-05-2023, 02:54
I’ve covered buying used components from AliExpress/Taobao on my blog several times, but I decided to play roulette once again, and it looks like I got lucky this time.
DL24EW: Preview of the updated version of Atorch’s popular electronic load
7-05-2023, 14:42
I’ve already reviewed two electronic loads made by Atorch. I can’t say they were all that great, but I can’t say they were bad either. That said, I’ve noticed that each new version of their products gets better. While I wait for mine to arrive for review, I thought I’d put together a short preview.

Repair and review of the Bluetti EB55 power station

A friend recently asked me to help a relative of his repair a power station. Since I wanted not only to help but also to see what was inside and how it worked, I naturally said, “Send it over.” The station has now been repaired and inspected, and I have something to tell you about it. Since this is essentially two articles in one, though, it’s going to be fairly long.
