Fnirsi LC1020E LCR Meter
20-05-2026, 21:06
Some time ago, I was asked to review an LCR meter from Fnirsi. I can’t say it was convenient for me, since my workload is very heavy, but in this case curiosity won out—especially since I’ve been using a similar instrument for quite a while and know that a lot of people bought one after reading my review. And as far as I can tell, the Fnirsi LC1020E has already been reviewed by quite a few authors, so my review will mostly just be an addition to what’s already out there.

While I was thinking about this article, I kept remembering an old and quite famous film with the unassuming title "Three Plus Two". Why? Because there are five power supplies: three of one type and two of another. They also fall into two pairs—100 W and 200 W—with one 400 W unit on its own. So today I'm reviewing two 100 W power supplies, two 200 W ones, and one 400 W unit. I think it'll be interesting :)

Another installment in the series about taking on Chinese power supply manufacturers. Today I’ll be looking at six stick-style models: a teardown, tests, and conclusions.

Three types of 21700 cells: high-current and interesting tabless cells

I was sent some more interesting cells to test. One type is basically nothing special, but a pair of high-current tabless cells really caught my interest. I definitely haven't had anything like these before, so I think this will be useful.

Four 12 V power supplies: 60, 100, 150, and 200 W

We recently received several test samples from one of the factories. They were originally designed to be sealed, but we asked them to send the units without potting compound so we could test them “bare” and take a look inside.

LiFePO4 batteries, 15 and 25 Ah

This is the third part of my review of various batteries. Today we're looking at completely different cells: a different size, manufacturer, and chemistry. But in my opinion, cells like these are just as much in demand today as the ones covered previously.
24 V 10 A power supply, a mixed bag
30-01-2026, 14:28
Last fall, I had a small order lined up to build a clever UPS, but the order was eventually canceled. The power supply I’d bought for it, though, was still here. I finally found a little time to test it, and I think this will be useful for anyone planning to buy one like it.

EVE 21700 batteries, two types

Continuing the previous comprehensive review, this time with a pair of 21700 batteries: one is geared more toward high current, the other toward high capacity.

EVE 18650 batteries, four types

Not long ago, one of my readers got in touch again and asked me to test some batteries. Why not? I find it interesting, and it’s useful for you, so I agreed. Today is part one: 18650 cells from the same manufacturer, the well-known EVE.

Nine 12 V power supplies, 40–350 W, in sealed enclosures

Another batch of power supplies to test, this time in sealed enclosures. These power supplies are commonly used in lighting, especially outdoor lighting. This review will consist of nine relatively brief descriptions of each model, along with test results, conclusions, observations, and a small bonus.
RD6012H, a very interesting converter from Riden
21-12-2025, 21:25
Not long ago, I noticed that the range of converters from the well-known company Ruideng had expanded with a rather unusual model. Naturally, I contacted the manager and ordered one for review. To get ahead of myself, I’ll say that I haven’t regretted deciding to test this model for a moment.

Ten budget 12 V power supplies, 1–8 A, in plastic enclosures

Strictly speaking, it would be more accurate to say not 10 power supplies, but 6+4: six were sent for preliminary testing as samples, while the other four arrived after some revisions and are essentially production units. But the point remains the same: today’s review covers ten 12 V power supplies with different power ratings.

Slim 12 V HCA and HCF series power supplies, 18–100 W

You come across all sorts of things on the power supply market, but I hadn’t seen power supplies in this form factor before. I’m not saying it’s a good design; it’s just out there, so I had to take one apart and test it.

A pair of 36 W and 60 W power supplies in an unusual form factor

I received another batch of various power supplies for testing, and among them were some unusual ones in round cases, so I decided to start with those :)
LS-300W-24V power supply: looks good, I like it
19-09-2025, 03:18
Not long ago, I reviewed an entire series of LS power supplies. They differed slightly in their circuitry and specifications, and some of them were high-power models. It turned out that I’d forgotten to test one model, which was a shame, because it proved to be very good indeed. So here I am filling that gap.
CTG-60W-12V power supply, a pretty good one
22-08-2025, 22:10
I actually reviewed an entire series of these power supplies, but this particular one got held up in transit somehow, so I’m only publishing its test results now. And believe me, this SMPS is worth showing you.
Four more power supplies: 60, 100, 200 and 400 watts, 24 volts
22-08-2025, 01:44
This is a continuation of the previous review, but this time there are twice as many power supplies, and their voltage is also twice as high. The basic idea is much the same, though: these are very interesting models, and they’re available in Ukraine.
Two 12 V power supplies, 300 and 400 W, and both are interesting
21-08-2025, 10:59
Another batch of power supplies has arrived—lots of them, all kinds—and today I’ll tell you about a couple of interesting models worth a closer look.
